Craig Cain's Lake Fork Bass Fishing

Trophy Bass Fishing on Lake Fork Reservoir in Texas

Diego Arosi and Craig Cain May 2, 2008
Diego Arosi May 2, 2008
Dear Craig,
first of all I'd like to thank you for the great time fishing together.
The flight back to Milan was ok.
I'm already missing lakefork and you; I took a look of the pictures on your site; herewith you can see the pictures I took during our fishing session.
Unfortunately I couldn't overcome my record at Toho where I took many fishes but not very big.
I lost a peacock.
Personally I found much better Texas than Florida from any point of view.
How are going things there; any enormous fish?
Do you have any news about my bass?

I have fished Lake Fork many times and used several different guides.  Most were knowledgeable but only one was able to deliver exactly as planned.  That guide is Craig Cain.

Early morning, when pulling out from the boat launch, Craig asked my friend and I what we wanted to accomplish...quantity or the "hawg"?  We agreed on going for the big fish.  Craig immediately advised that,  ..."while we may not bring in large #s of fish, we will bring in the quality".  Boy, was he ever RIGHT ON!

Craig diligently searched several of his hot spots on the lake, and would not settle in unless he felt the places were perfect.  Once settled, Craig instructed us on the recent fish patterns and best techniques for catching.  We landed BIG fish at every stop.  Every fish caught was 5+ lbs.  I caught my personal best fish  that day at just over 8lbs!!!

Craig displayed a genuine sense of caring throughout the day, ensuring that we were having fun while learning some new fishing techniques.  Catching and seeing all of those huge fish in one day was one of the best days on the lake I have ever experienced.
If you are looking for a GREAT guide for Lake Fork, look no further.  Give Craig a call.

I have been fishing with Craig for the better part of 5 years and he has always consistently put us on fish. Whether it is fishing shallow, sight fishing or fishing deep he seems to locate a pattern and we catch fish. He is as good a guide as there is on Lake Fork and he knows the lake extremely well. He is extremely knowledgeable as to what baits to use and it doesn't matter if you are a beginner or very experience, Craig is just fun to be with out on the lake. Craig is the guy I call for my next guide trip.

Thanks to you Craig, you showed me a great time & some new fishing techniques,
especially Deep Water Bass, that was too cool.  I  hope that we can fish together
again in the near future.  I really enjoyed my time with you, the fellowship, and the
great fishing equipment you allowed me to use.  I really enjoyed myself.
Thank you,   Joel Henslee

"Craig is a very knowledgeable guide who has fished on Lake Fork for many years and will work hard to find fish and help you to make the most of your trip to Fork."

I have been privileged to fish with Craig Cain for two years on Lake Fork.  Having a safe and successful fishing experience is Craig's goal for all clients.  As a professional guide Craig has taught me new techniques to catch the finicky Lake Fork bass throughout the year.  The key to catching bass is locating them and Craig's experience and knowledge of seasonal patterns on Lake Fork is superb.  He has quality equipment, takes excellent care of it and represents his sponsors in a professional manner.  Craig taught me how to use a 3:16 Lure Co. swim bait and how to fish a frog with success.  It has been a joy to fish with Craig and I trust if anyone needs a guide on Lake Fork they will consider Craig Cain.

Craig,

It is always a pleasure fishing with you. Whether the fish are biting or not, you are always working hard to make sure we are having a good time. As you know, for the past 23 years I have fished with many guides at Lake Fork and you are one of the best. I always look forward to my next trip with you. GO SOONERS !!!!!

Fishing with Craig was an experience we will never forget. Craig has extensive knowledge of Lake Fork. Plus he treats you like family.    See you in October of 2008. Craig even helped me catch my personal best at 9.2 lbs     Thanks for the great memories. Oh, and the laughs too.     -Len Starnes    -Stuart Covington
My Father and I have fished Lake Fork with Craig Cain for the past two years.  Due to our distance from the lake and work constraints we have to plan our trips months in advance.  No matter what nasty weather Texas throws at us, Craig still puts us on fish.  As impressive and essential that skill is as a guide, that's not why I keep coming back to fish with Craig.  He takes the time to teach us new techniques and skills that we don't utlitze when fishing back home.  He shows us how to fish the lake and maps out a plan for our week and any changing weather.  During our most recent trip to Lake Fork we boated 57 bass in 3 days including an 8 lber, a 7 lber, a 6 lber, and two 5 lbers.  The average weight of our remaining fish was just over 3.5 lbs.  We could not have achieved such success without Craig.  We will be back again next year.

Craig,
Thanks for the pics. I am back in MT but had a great time in Texas. I know that the 5lbs bass that I caught is not generally considered a bragger, but I appreciate it. Thank you for all your instructions and patience. I enjoyed the experience, and your guide stories have been spread up North. Everyone laughs their ass off whenever I tell your story. Good luck with the season, and I hope to fish with you again next year.

Dear Craig,

On behalf of myself, Kenny, Chuck and Tim I wanted to pass a note of thanks for your efforts last week on Lake Fork. Chuck and Tim had a blast and were thoroughly entertained by the fishing and your company. I did manage to beat Kenny's big fish by catching a 9-10 on Sunday in Dale Creek with Hank. We may be back later this year, or worst case, next Spring and we will stay in contact with you so that we can fish together again.

Thanks again for all your help.

Sincerely,

Alan Huband
